Having worked with Persuaders in the past, international chemical engineering and waterwaste management company, SciDev, reached out to Persuaders to help them prepare for their 2020 AGM.

As an ASX listed company experiencing a period of growth, they needed to impress their investors and clarify their key communications in order to set themselves up for the future.

The Brief

SciDev was preparing for their AGM, and while they had all the data they needed to share with investors, their designs were lacklustre and heavy with complex, scientific language.

What’s more, they hadn’t established a clear voice for their brand and were actively seeking guidance to establish their mission, vision and values as a business.

Persuaders were tasked with employing a variety of tactics to help them define these key strategic communications for their business, while delivering an equally impressive design for their investors.

The solution

This project split into two parts:

1.

We took the leadership team at SciDev through a series of Customer Experience (CX) interviews and exercises to gather insights from their team. This experience helped them think differently about their business and consider the ways that their customers and investors communicate in relation to how they typically communicate as a business. From there, we took those insights to develop their mission statement, vision statement and brand values. We also delivered a tone of voice guide and a visual voice guide. These tools can be used across the business to ensure consistency across all visual and written communications.

 

2.

The second part of this project was to modify the language in their AGM presentation to ensure that it was easy to understand for their investors. This involved both copy editing and the ability to interpret highly technical language and display information visually. We also took this opportunity to build new elements into SciDev’s visual style, as they had very limited brand assets.

The outcome

The result was a very happy CEO, Investor Relations Manager and investors! SciDev’s CEO shared with our team how insightful he found the CX work undertaken and had even repeated some of the exercises with the broader team.

SciDev have also shared with us how many compliments they received from investors and partners regarding the design of their AGM report, and have continued to work with Persuaders and refer other businesses to us.

We chose to work with Persuaders as we needed another perspective on our corporate communications. They supported us by developing our case studies, capability statement, corporate messaging and development of our investor presentation. Feedback from our key stakeholders has been overwhelmingly positive and our messaging is a lot cleaner. Our whole business is better for the experience and we have a new perspective on messaging.
