AFTER A 5 YEAR HIATUS MICROSOFT HAS FINALLY RELEASED OFFICE 2016 FOR MAC
Last month Microsoft made a preview edition of Office 2016 for Mac available and we think it was well worth the 5 year wait. Office for Mac has always felt a tad neglected compared to its Windows counterpart but this new version proves Microsoft is serious about bringing fully functional versions of Office to all popular platforms. You no longer need to run Windows to get a decent version of Office. We were pretty excited to get the new version and take it out for a spin – especially PowerPoint. After weeks of using PowerPoint to design beautiful presentations we thought we’d share our list of favourite new features and changes.
Beautiful and much simpler user-interface makes it easier for users to navigate through all the tools and features.
11 new transitions we think are inspired by Keynote.
Makes it easy to switch your presentation from one display to another and offers a customisable presenter window.
New collaboration feature that allows multiple users to work on the one document simultaneously.
Office for Mac has often played second fiddle to the flagship Windows version that powers Microsoft’s productivity software empire, but this Preview proves that might all be about to change! Though they might seem small, these advancements will help stop Mac users (like our designers) feeling they need Windows to run a decent version of Office. Instead we expect people and companies to take full advantage of the new and improved Office 2016 for Mac and invest in PowerPoint Templates specially for this platform. Stay tuned for the full licences version due for release towards the end of the year.
